FULL DAY ITINERARY:
OPTION 1: HANOI CITY TOUR WITH ETHNOLOGY MUSEUM
(On Tuesdays – Thursdays – Saturdays & Sundays)
07:40 - 8:30 Am: Meet your tour guide at your hotel around Hanoi Old Quarter and embank on a city tour of Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. In the morning, you will visit Ho Chi Minh’s complex. Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is one of the most important and visited sites in Vietnam, a pilgrimage site where "respect" and "reverence" are the key words. Then wander the grounds to see his house-on-stilt, the Presidential Palace and the One Pillar Pagoda where worshipping the Godess of Mercy - the most unique pagoda in the world.
Continue to visit would be the Lacque Paintings workshop. Then you will go to visit Ethnology Museum. You have great chance to know about culture, custom, languages, houses of 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam. The mission of the Museum is scientific research, collection, documentation, conservation, exhibition and preserving the cultural and historic patrimony of the nation’s different ethnic groups.
Have a rest and enjoy lunch in a local restaurant in Hanoi Old Quarter for a taste of authentic Hanoi cuisine.
Visit Temple of Literature – Vietnam’s first university constructed in 1070 - dedicated to Confucius, sages and talented scholars. Inside you can see the stone steles mounted on the backs of turtles, which have the names of Vietnam’s best scholars inscribed. The temple highlights the importance that Vietnamese society place on education both now and in the past.
Next to the West Lake - Hanoi’s biggest lake, Tran Quoc pagoda - a Buddhist relic and national heritage lying on the West Lake.
Leave for a legendary Hoan Kiem lake to visit Ngoc Son Temple dedicated to a former general commander Tran Hung Dao for his struggle against Mongolians.
